Dear Friends in Christian Camping:

It is my pleasure to recommend the ministry of Gene Cordova. In the 22 years that I have been involved in the ministry here at Camp Dixie, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many people in children’s ministry. Gene and Fawn are truly a couple whose heart’s beat the same as ours when it comes to ministry! We hope to have them back for our children’s camps many times in the future!

Gene is the best ventriloquist I’ve ever seen. His natural sense of humor kept the campers and staff laughing each night as he brought out a variety f lovable puppet friends. Each friend had a distinctly different personality. The message was fresh and new each night, never coming across as canned or scripted as the gospel was clearly presented. His presentation did not come across a variety show, but all built towards a common message for that evening.

Gene is also an excellent illusionist, creating exciting object lessons that stay in the minds of everyone. Campers were chosen each night and brought up on stage to participate in parts of the message.

Throughout the camp week, the Cordova’s mingled comfortably with our camp staff, sharing meals and conversations with us. It was easy to see that they not only brought
a wealth of experience and expertise to the area of children’s ministry, but they have a passion to see children come to know Christ.

Gene’s standard range for a Summer Camp or Retreat is $1500 to $2500 depending on the length and number of programs, plus travel expenses which will either be mileage @ .40 per mile or round trip airfare. Mr. and Mrs. Cordova will stay on the camp grounds and share meals with the campers.

To help with budget restrictions we can also give you dates that the airfare/ travel expenses would be significantly reduced or even free because we are already scheduled in your area. We understand that not every camp can afford our standard range; so we offer a discount for camps that qualify.

How do you know if you qualify? If you are certain that your camp would NOT be able to host Cordova Creative Ministries within our standard range, then you automatically qualify. (A camp that is able to pay a national ministry $1500 to $2500 or more would not qualify, as they would feel comfortable paying full price.)

Since we are first and foremost a ministry, we always do our best to accommodate camp budgets as best we can. When a camp is able to pass our promotional materials along to other churches in their area and we can schedule multiple programs, it enables us to reduce our expenses and enjoy as many ministry opportunities as possible. Please don’t hesitate to talk to us and share your needs.
